Openet Publish Links to Pornography

Opennet a company who provide software that is focused on network-edge solutions that extract increased business value from network activity to companies like BT, and who are partners with companies like Cisco, HP as well as others was found during a routine audit to be harbouring links to pornography which was held on another Web server not under the control of Openet.

The cause of this is not clear, but Openet seem to be using the OpenSource Tool WordPress as its website engine, and this may have allowed hackers to either upload and or embed html code and JavaScript to redirect a visitor to another Website which contained pornography.

When the company was informed of this fact they quickly closed ranks, were unable to find the source of the contamination themselves and had to rely on assistance from a third party to discover the source of the problem.

To-date Openet has not being forthcoming with an explanation as to how it's website was compromised.
