In May and June of 2007 the Website for the The Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers was found to have an unmanaged Forum which was riddled with images of extreme pornography.
This fact was brought to the attention of the The Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers who swiftly moved to remove the content.
During the height of the abuse their website received 328337 hits for May and 300635 in June.
Following the removal of the Forum the hits have fallen considerably for example in July of 2007 the hits were down to 30129.
This gives an indication of the extent of the problem and the amount of bandwidth that is wasted on needless content.

Openet Publish Links to Pornography
Opennet a company who provide software that is focused on network-edge solutions that extract increased business value from network activity to companies like BT, and who are partners with companies like Cisco, HP as well as others was found during a routine audit to be harbouring links to pornography which was held on another Web server not under the control of Openet.
The cause of this is not clear, but Openet seem to be using the OpenSource Tool WordPress as its website engine, and this may have allowed hackers to either upload and or embed html code and JavaScript to redirect a visitor to another Website which contained pornography.
When the company was informed of this fact they quickly closed ranks, were unable to find the source of the contamination themselves and had to rely on assistance from a third party to discover the source of the problem.
To-date Openet has not being forthcoming with an explanation as to how it's website was compromised.

CUPublish (Hacked Bu: Uc_Hilal for Ayyıldız Team )
The Company CUPublish a Dublin based Technology Company was prior to May 2007 Hacked by Uc_Hilal for Ayyıldız Team.
Today nearly one year on the Companies Website at www.cupublish.com was initially hit it is still suffering from this attack.
CUPublish boast to have customers such as Company Law Review Group, Companies Registration Office, Hanly Group, Adare Manor, amongst others who reputabile all use their Content Management System to run their own Websites.
This would raise doubts as to the security of the Irish Governments Companies Registrations Office's Website and the validity of its data, as it would for all customers who use CUPublish Content Management System.
State of the Net by Irish Standards
It is estimated that over 1,000 Irish Websites have being Hacked, or Spammed and are unaware that it has happened.
Most of these Websites are Online Forums and they allow the posting of Links and inline Images, which are mostly of an extreme sexual nature.
Also found have being links to prescription drugs such as Viagra, Effexor, tramadol, etc.
The type of Websites being affected range from Politicians, Internet Companies, Tourism, as well as individuals and organisations.
This Blog will be my record of Websites that in my opinion are causing unnecessary exposure to material that could lead to a criminal offence or a serious medical condition even death.
Watch as I expose the Websites that are needlessly providing content that should only be seen by people who are over 18 Years of Age.
These Websites do this without any fear of reprisal from the Law in Ireland, but this Blog will endeavour to Shame them into taken Action.
